Thank you to our volunteers, members, and visitors for a successful season of HawkWatch 2013!

You can visit the Ramona Grasslands and WRI Headquarters year-round for personal birdwatching


WRI HawkWatch (when in session) - WRI Headquarters, Ramona Grasslands 9am-Noon

No RSVP required. Program begins promptly at 9am, we recommend you arrive at 8:30am

Scopes will be provided for your use


Observe both wintering and resident raptors! You will see raptors such as:

Golden Eagles

Wintering Ferruginous Hawks

Red-tailed Hawks

Prairie Falcons

Red-shouldered Hawks


Nineteen (19) species of raptors alone have been recorded at this Raptor Hotspot!


What to Bring:

Binoculars (if you have them)

Sturdy shoes (we will not be hiking)

Official HawkWatch gear or other layered clothing (i.e. hats, fleece vests, fleece jackets)

Directions:
From the South & West: Take Highway 67 to Ramona and turn left (North) on Highland Valley Road for 2 miles and look for our sign on the right
From the North: Take Highway 78 to Ramona Main Street (Hwy 67) turn right (North), proceed 3 miles to Highland Valley Road, turn right (North) for 2 miles and look for our sign on the right
